Editing Custom Data for a Matter (Admin)

Once you've created a custom data collection, there may be times you need to make changes to the collection itself or to custom data fields in the collection. 


To do this:

  1. In Actionstep, go to Admin > Matter types
  2. Click Settings for the matter type you want to edit the custom data for. 
  3. Click Manage in the Matter data section. The Matter data window appears, showing you the data collection(s) that are associated with this matter type.
  4. For a specific data collection, choose which type of edits you need to make:
    • To edit the properties, settings, or permissions of the collection, click Edit and make your adjustments. See Creating a Data Collection for a Matter (Admin) for help with the fields on this page. 
    • To edit the fields within a collection, click Fields, followed by Edit for the specific field you want to update. Then make your changes.
  5.  Once you're finished making changes, click Save to save your work.


NOTE:  If you choose to edit the Fields for the data collection, you will see a lot of the same fields you saw when you created these fields for the collection. There are a few additional fields in this view, however. You can click the information icon next to these fields to learn more about them. Additionally, if you need to add a new field to the collection, click Create new field.
