Matter Ageing Report

Brief Description  

This report shows the average time it takes for matters of a selected matter type to move through each step.   




Use Cases 

This report displays the step on which a matter currently resides, how many matters are on that step, and how long they have been on that step.  




Finding and Using the Report

  • In Actionstep, go to Reports > Matter Reports > General.

Available Filters

  • Age based on: Choose the date model which should be used to calculate the report:   
    • Matter Created Date reflects the number of days since the creation of the matter.    
    • Date moved to current step reflects the number of days since the matter was moved to the current step.   
  • Matter Type: Choose the matter type used for report information. The report can only return results for one matter type at a time.    
  • Group By Participant: When set to None, the report will display a single table that includes data for all matters. When  a participant type is specified, there will be individual tables for each participant of that type. For instance, selecting Lawyer will display a table for each participant assigned to a lawyer role in a matter.   




Report Output

  • Step Name: Shows the name of the step associated with the subsequent row data. (Only steps with at least one matter currently on that step will be displayed.)   
  • Days: Shows the number of items in the given range that have been on the corresponding step. For example, if a step lists the number 4 in the 31-60 column, that means four items have been on this step for 31-60 days.    
    NOTE:  Selecting the linked number in the aging column displays a different view of the report, which shows the individual matters, participants, specific step names, and the time they've been on that step.
  • Total: Displays the total number of matters on the step associated with the row.
