TIP:  This report includes information about the responsible lawyer. To learn more about this role in billing, see Understanding the 'Responsible Lawyer' Role in Actionstep Billing.

Description

This report looks for all invoices that have been approved within the period the report is run by and break down the fees, expenses and tax for the invoices. The key factor is that the information it shows is based (as the name suggests) on the date of the invoice. It does not matter if the time was recorded within the date range of the report. For example, you might have recorded the time around the first of the year, but if you bill the matter in August, it will only show the fee allocation  for that time in August. If you run the report for July, it will not show the fee allocation. This report also ignores whether the invoice has been paid.

Use Cases

The Fee Allocation at Invoice Date Report should be used to track how much your fee earners are able to bill for a period of time, regardless of when the work for that bill was done. It is useful to see how much each matter/ fee earner is contributing to what is billed. If your firm measures fee earner contributions by what is billed, not by what is earned per fee earner, this is an ideal report.
