Brief Description  

The Time Records Report is useful to see an overview of the work done by a participant or group of participants. This report can also be used to see an overview of the work done for a particular matter.

Finding and Using the Report

  • In Actionstep, go to Reports > Matter Reports > General.

Available Filters

Basic Options

  • Period: Choose the timeframe you want covered in the report.   
  • Date Field: Choose how you want the reports to be run:    
    • Timesheet Date shows the date of the time entry.   
    • Time entry entered date shows the date the time entry was added. For example, if you have backdated your time entry, it will show the date actually entered not the date the time entry was attributed to.    
    • Invoice date shows the date the time entry was invoiced.   
  • Report Type: Choose how you want information in the report displayed:    
    • Participant Detailed    
    • Action Detailed  
    • Summary by Matter   
    • Summary by Participant   
    • Daily Summary by Participant   
  • Timekeeper: Choose specific timekeepers to include in the report, or select All to show all timekeepers.   


Advanced Options 

  • Matter: Narrow your report by selecting one or more matters.   
  • Matter type: Select a specific matter type.   




Report Output

This report displays tables for each timekeeper you've selected in the report filters.    

  • Date: Shows the date the time was logged.    
  • Timekeeper: Shows the participant who logged the time.   
  • Description: Shows a Brief Description of the activity associated with the time.   
  • Quick-Code: Shows the quick-code assigned to the activity.   
  • Matter ID and Matter Name: Shows information about the specific matter the activity is associated with.   
  • Matter Type: Shows the matter type.   
  • Actual Hrs: Shows how much time was spent on the activity.   
  • Billable Hrs: Shows how much of the time for the activity was billed.   
  • Invoiced Hrs: Shows how much of the time for the activity was invoiced.   
  • Uninvoiced Hrs: Shows how much of the time for the activity has not yet been invoiced.
