Brief Description  

This report shows your organization's financial position as of a selected date.




Use Cases 

This information is part of your financial reporting set that management accountants use to monitor company performance. This will often be reviewed by external auditors and financial institutions when lending. 




Finding and Using the Report

  • In Actionstep, go to Reports > Accounting Reports > Financial.

Available Filters

  • Balance Sheet Date: Choose the date range you want included in the report.   
  • Comparison Date: Choose the comparative periods you want included in the report. 
    NOTE:  You can create comparison reports with the balance sheet. For example, if you would like to see your financial position at the end of last month and compare it to this same date last year, choose the following settings: 
  • Level of nested accounts: Choose the level of detail you want included in the report. You would normally set this to the maximum selection of 4. If you were to choose 1, for example, you would only see the header accounts with no details in relation to child accounts. There is a maximum of 4 nested accounts that can be shown in this report.   
  • Show account numbers: Select this option to show the general ledger account numbers.  
  • Show Zero Balances: Select this option to show general ledger accounts with a balance of zero. 




Report Output

This balance sheet is grouped by GL Account Names. Header accounts are listed first, followed by the children accounts. The balance for each account on the selected dates is listed to the right, with a subtotal by header account. You can click the link for a specific account to view reported information specific to that account.
